Indeparent
Welcome to the blog!

Our mission is to help parents make confident, informed choices, and to help schools learn and grow through constructive, well-intentioned feedback.

Indeparent was founded by parents, not educational experts. This means we are in the trenches with you, wrestling with the same tough questions; and the intention of this blog is to create a platform where those tough questions can be discussed.

For example:

  • Is a private education worth it (and what does that even mean?)

  • Is ‘setting’ a good thing, and who does it help the most?

  • Should we care about whether a school is run by a charitable trust or a proprietary (for profit) company?

  • How do we prepare our kids for an AI future?

Almost none of these questions will have a ‘one size fits all’ answer, so we won’t attempt to provide one. Instead, the hope is that we’ll create a conversation that allows you to come to your own conclusions for you and your families.

To further enrich this community discussion, we also plan to feature external expertise on the blog.

A future platform for thought leaders

Although we (Indeparent) don’t pretend to be thought leaders or educational experts, we hope to create a platform for those that are.

This will include opinions and insights from educators, academics, and anyone else that can bring real insight. These may sometimes be challenging or provocative, but always interesting and engaging.

Join the conversation

We’d love to hear from you in the comments for each post. Most posts will pose a question and provide a balanced view on that question. It’s for the community to enrich this question with their views - so please consider getting involved.

We hope you’ll find this blog useful, and we look forward to growing the conversation together.
