AROPS is a national body dedicated to supporting the alumni organisations of independent schools across the United Kingdom. It functions primarily as a networking and benchmarking forum, allowing alumni relations professionals and volunteers to share best practice, navigate data protection legislation, and enhance engagement strategies. Unlike associations focused on headteachers or bursars, AROPS specifically targets the "Old Boy" and "Old Girl" networks, aiming to strengthen the lifelong bond between former pupils and their institutions while providing a collective voice for alumni societies of all sizes.
