The 1509 Group is the overarching charitable body and holding company for the Royal Grammar School, Guildford family of schools. Named after the year of the school's founding by Robert Beckingham, the Group provides the strategic governance and financial framework for one of the UK’s leading independent boys' schools. Following a significant merger in 2021 between the RGS and Lanesborough Preparatory School, the Group now manages a seamless educational journey from pre-prep to sixth form. Beyond its Surrey heartland, the 1509 Group oversees an expanding global network of branded international schools in the Middle East and East Asia.
